Lean Development One of the latest contributions to the Agile community is that of Lean Software Development as described by Mary Poppendieck. Based on the principles of Japanese lean production, Lean Development is another paradigm similar in nature to Crystal and ASD in that it fosters a change in culture as well as a change in process. These principles are designed to increase delivery speed, produce high quality software, and lower production cost.
