Call for Papers

1st Symposium for Graduate Research in Computer Science
"A Conference by Graduate Students for Graduate Students"

March 29, 2008
Raleigh, North Carolina

Sponsors: NetApp and SAS

The goal of the 2008 Symposium for Graduate Research (SGR) is to disseminate emerging and established graduate research from across the United States to graduate students, faculty, and industrial partners, thus providing the opportunity for collaboration and external feedback on current research.

The SGR invites high-quality research paper submissions from graduate students at all levels who are conducting research in all areas of computer science. All papers will be reviewed by graduate students on the program committee. Authors of accepted papers are expected to present their work at the SGR and will receive additional feedback from SGR attendees. Accepted papers will be distributed to attendees as well as posted electronically on the SGR website with the express permission of the authors. Authors will retain copyright of their work and accepted papers will be considered unpublished, similar to research technical reports. Thus, we encourage submission of accepted papers to more formal venues in the future.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Algorithms
  • Architecture
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Compilers
  • Databases
  • Embedded Systems
  • Graphics
  • Human Computer Interaction
  • Networking
  • Operating Systems
  • Security and Privacy
  • Software Engineering

Additional Note: We are pursuing a relationship with ACM Crossroads where unpublished work could be invited for publication. Authors may opt out of being considered for publication in ACM Crossroads during submission.
